Couple Uses Stolen Credit Card To Buy Gold Crucifix: Prosecutors

Harvey couple was found in possession of items they had purchased with stolen card at time of arrest, prosecutors say.

Larry Cross, 64, of Harvey, was charged with using a stolen credit card. Co-defendant Taquittee Page was released on a $25,000 I-bond.

Prosecutors said that a Harvey couple was found in possession of items they bought using a woman’s stolen credit card.

Police arrested Larry Cross, 54, and Taquittee Page, 44, both of Harvey, in the 7200 block of College Drive, Palos Heights, on theft charges on June 25.

According to the charges, the two used the the stolen credit card to purchase a gold crucifix, laptop computer and iPhone.

The phone was traced to the Jewel-Osco Food Store at 128th Street and Harlem Avenue, Palos Park, where the couple attempted to make another purchase but the card was declined, prosecutors said.

Cross has prior convictions for theft, retail theft, possession of a controlled substance, and burglary, according to court records.

The public defender said that Cross lives at a senior center in Harvey, where he does volunteer work.

The judge set bail $50,000 for Cross. Page was released on a $25,000 I-Bond. Their next court date is July 15.
