Crestwood, Worth Men Haul In Fishing Classic's Biggest Catches

Evergreen Park, Crestwood and Worth residents haul in biggest catches in the Lake Katherine Spring Fishing Classic

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL -- Evergreen Park-resident Joe Priori hauled in the biggest catch in Lake Katherine's Spring Fishing Classic last Saturday in Palos Heights. Hardy fishing enthusiasts braved the elements to fish the entire shore at Lake Katherine’s Spring Fishing Classic. The second place prize went to Crestwood resident Chris Malinowski

Competitors lined the water of Lake Katherine early to fish for muskie, catfish, walleye, and bass, despite cold and wet weather hitting the region. Prizes went to the top three finishers in the classic. Priori grabbed first prize for his 3.8-pound, 19-inch bass caught at 8.30 a.m. Malinowski came in second with a 3.8-pound, 18.5-inch bass caught at 7:40 a.m.

The biggest bluegill was .2-pounds, 7-inches long and was caught at 7.10 a.m. by Wally Findysz. Jerry Janicki, from Worth, was awarded second prize in the same category for a .2-pound 7-inch bluegill caught at 11.30am.
