Customer Becomes Irate When She Can't Find Vape In Store: Reports

Palos Hills police said the woman began tossing stuff around the gas station and spit at an employee, then fought cops.

PALOS HILLS, IL — A woman was charged with disorderly conduct after she began throwing stuff around a Palos Hills gas station, police reports said.

Around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Palos Hills police were called for a disturbance at a gas station at 103rd Street and Roberts Road. An employee told officers that a woman came into the mini mart and became irate because the gas station didn’t have a particular vape, reports said.

Police said the woman became irate and began throwing stuff around the gas station and spat at the employee. The woman was found a few blocks away in the 8100 block of 103rd Street. When the officers tried to take her into custody, police said she began hitting the officers and resisting arrest.

Shakira Smalley, 28, of Palos Hills, was charged with disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property and battery. Smalley was released on an I-bond.
