Daytime Burglar Breaks Into Palos Park Home, Takes Cash And Jewelry
Palos Park police said the burglar or burglars entered the house by forcing open the side door on the garage.
PALOS PARK, IL —Palos Park police remained on the scene several hours after someone broke into a home Monday.
Sometime between 6 a.m. and 5:10 p.m. police said the burglar or burglars forced their way through the garage and entered a home in the 9900 block of Somerset Lane. When the homeowners came home, they discovered the side door open in the garage and their belongings rifled through. Police said cash and jewelry were missing from the house.
Chief Joe Miller, of the Palos Park Police Department, said it was the first daytime burglary to hit the village in a while.

“There has been a recent uptick in daytime burglaries in the Chicago area,” Miller told Patch.
Police are reviewing residents’ home security video from the neighborhood. Residents are asked to check video for unfamiliar vehicles or people.
