Disgruntled Employee, Cell Phone Hack: Palos Hills Blotter

PALOS HILLS, IL — The following information comes from Palos Hills police reports as a record of police activity and incidents reported to the police. Criminal charges merely represent accusations by the state, and county prosecutors often choose to drop or reduce them. Disgruntled Employee

Palos Hills police investigated a report of electronic harassment April 11 at Celtic Cartage. A company official said an ex-employee has been sending harassing email to an HR executive. Apparently the former employee had been terminated the day before. The business did not wish to pursue criminal charges at this time. Extra patrols have been added for the business.

Theft By Deception

A resident reported that someone hacked their cell phone on April 13. Police said the resident called a number she was given for support. She was instructed to approve numerous payments to a person not known to her in the amount of $12,487.48.
