Dorn and Sorrick Pre-School for All Family Fun Night

Andrzej Pogorzelski and daughter Vanessa were all smiles as they entered the Dorn APR. The two were attending the monthly Family Fun Night as part of North Palos School District 117’s Pre-School for All program.

“(My daughter) loves coming to these events and it’s great to have something like this where families can spend time together outside the home,” said Mr. Pogorzelski of Hickory Hills. “Vanessa also enjoys seeing some of her friends and classmates. For me as a father, it’s important to have time like this with my child. And the entertainment is really good.”

Wednesday night’s entertainment featured the creative and innovative balloon twisting and talents of “Smarty Pants and the Big Balloon Show.” Mr. Pants, or “Smarty” as he likes to be called, dazzled the crowd with his ‘self-taught’ balloon magic.

Amna Qasem was attending the event with her son Emad Abdelqader, 5. Ms. Qasem said she most enjoyed the “family bonding that events like this provide.”
“Being a single mom, this gives me an opportunity to spend some quality time with my son,” she said. “We really enjoy the events they have each month.”
