Missing Elderly Palos Heights Woman Found Safe
Leona Heinen, 82, was located safe Friday evening.

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL (UPDATE) -- An elderly Palos Heights woman who had been reported missing has been found safe Friday evening. Police said Leona Heinen, 82, suffered from memory loss when not taking her medication. Family members grew concerned when Leona missed a hair appointment earlier in the day. Leona was found by Oak Forest police.
Original story -- Leona Heinen, 82, left her Palos Heights residence Friday morning, Jan. 18, to get her hair done but missed the appointment. She has not answered her phone since 10 a.m. Family members tell police that Leona sounded confused the last time they spoke to her.
Police say that while Heinen has not answered her cell phone, it is being pinged in the area of Crown Point, Indiana. Leona is driving a silver 2013 Mercedes Benz C300 with an Illinois plate AS89936.
