ELECTION RESULTS: New Trustees Elected to Moraine Valley Board

PALOS HILLS, IL -- Three newly coined trustees will join incumbent Joseph Murphy on the Moraine Valley Community College Board of Trustees. Eight candidates ran for three open seats and one unexpired 2-year term in the April 2 election. All results are unofficial.

Another Murphy will also taking a set at the board table. Patricia Joan Murphy (no relation to Joseph) won an unexpired 2-year term on the board of trustees, according to unofficial vote tallies. Murphy ran as a team with other newcomers, including Bernadette Barratt and Beth McElroy-Kirkwood, who, along with Joseph Murphy, were elected to 6-year terms. Barratt and McElroy-Kirkwood landed in the first and third spots, respectively. Their teammate Jaclyn O’Day lost her bid, coming in fourth behind the top vote getters.

Incumbents Sharon Wagner, who has served on the Moraine Valley board since 2001, and Daniel Casey, appointed to fill a vacancy on the board in 2018, came up short.
