Barbara Martinez Jitner is a filmmaker and human rights activist who posed as a factory worker on the U.S./Mexico border in order to uncover a dark world of grueling poverty and sexual abuse that leads to murder. She will speak at Trinity Christian College as part of the college's WorldView series on Monday, October 18, at 7 p.m.
The film Bordertown, starring Jennifer Lopez, was inspired by Martinez Jitner's critically acclaimed documentary, "La Frontera." Martinez Jitner is one of the first Latina executive producers of a primetime network television series, the Emmy-nominated "American Family."
All WorldView events held Mondays in October are free and open to the public. The next event is Michael Card in concert on October 25.
