Charo Headlining at Moraine Valley on May 14

Charo will showcase her mastery of flamenco guitar at Moraine Valley Community College on Saturday, May 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the Dorothy Menker Theater, in the Fine and Performing Arts Center, 9000 W. College Pkwy., Palos Hills.

Tickets are $35 for adults, $30 for seniors, and $25 for students.

Charo is a household name. She is instantly recognizable for her witty humor, loveable accent and trademark expression, “Cuchi-Cuchi.”

Since the 1970s, this musician, singer, comedienne, and stage and screen performer has been an integral proponent of contemporary Latin music. She established a new bilingual salsa style, “The Charo Rhythm,” that has been emulated by other performers and earned her a 2003 Screen Actor’s Guild Award.
