Palos Park will host its annual parade Sept. 18 at 11am down McCarthy Road. This year's Grand Marshal will be Pat Jones, who recently retired after serving more than 30 years as the village administrator.
The party will continue on the Village Green from noon to 6pm with a sanctioned Chili Cook-Off, entertainment from local high school groups, music from DJ Dance Factory, dance performances from Fine Arts Stageworks, and the Jim Nesci Reptile Show. Also, children can enjoy the day with Children's Farm and Horse Rides from The Center, inflatables, games, face painting, and more. Participants can also enjoy food and beverages from a variety of local vendors.
Local sponsors for the Cook-Off include Standard Bank and Trust (sponsor of Chili Central), Hackney's (sponsor of Children's Game Area), Klein, Thorpe, Jenkins, LTD, Prism Corp., Speer Financial, WOW Cable, Robinson Engineering and The Regional Newspapers.
