Plein Aire Sketching and Watercolor Field Trips are offered this summer by The Log Cabin Center for the Arts on Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., from June 2 through Aug. 11.
Led by art instructor Lois Hrejsa, the field trips take place at a variety of locations and several private residences throughout the Chicago area, including Lisle, Palos, Frankfort, Brookfield, Western Springs, Orland Park, Oak Brook, Hinsdale, Oak Park and the Chicago lakefront. Hrejsa offers both instruction and critique.
Some previous art experience is necessary.
Advance registration is required. Students pay $20 per session, payable by check the day of the trip. Details and driving directions are available at The Center upon registration. Participants usually carpool and bring a picnic lunch.
