Experts Discuss New Therapies, Latest Research At Autism Seminar

Family Time Magazine's autism seminar offers info on the latest cutting-edge therapies at Moraine Valley, this Saturday, Nov. 16.

PALOS HILLS, IL -- Moraine Valley Community College is the chosen venue for Family Time Magazine’s 2019 Autism and Special Needs Seminar on Saturday, Nov. 16. The seminar run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Building M on Moraine Valley Community College’s Palos Hills campus. If you have a child or family member with autism or other developmental disabilities, then you’ll want to attend this seminar.

Speakers and exhibitors will provide information on the latest developments in autism research and helping those living with autism and other developmental disabilities to achieve full and enriching lives. Attendees can peruse dozens of vendors with tables displaying products and services. The seminar was founded in 2009 by Family Time Magazine publisher Caroline O’Connell who saw a need in the community.

This year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Peter J. Smith, associate professor of pediatrics at UChicago Medicine, and a highly respected advocate for children with complex medical needs, neuro developmental disabilities, developmental delays and behavioral difficulties. He will speak on “The Evolution of ‘Expert’ Thought in ASD” at 10:15 a.m.

Experts will cover a wealth of information including Q&A sessions for every speaker. The seminar includes the latest research, cutting edge therapies, strategies for coping, networking opportunities, and much more. Allergy-free cleansing products, toys, fitness classes, and allergen-free food and supplements will be available for purchase. This event is also approved for Early Intervention Training CREDIT and CEU's, and CPDU's.
