PALOS PARK, IL — Palos Park police will be out in force over Labor Day weekend with a focus on the “fatal four” primary causes that contribute to deadly traffic crashes. Expect to see officers out in Palos Park and neighboring communities from now through the early morning hours of Sept. 7.

  • Driving under the influence (DUI)
  • Speeding
  • Distracted driving
  • Not wearing seat belts

Officers will patrol Palos Park roadways watching for and assisting stranded motorists, and enforcing the fatal four violations.

“We hope our increased visibility is a deterrent to speeding and other traffic violations,” Chief Joe Miller said. “It doesn’t always take a ticket, often motorists see us out on the roadways, and they slow down and or they buckle up.”
