Fingerprints Left On Gatorade Bottle Tie Man To Stolen Car: Cops

Palos Hills police say fingerprints left on a Gatorade bottle found inside a stolen car belonged to a Bridgeview man.

PALOS HILLS, IL — A Gatorade bottle led Palos Hills police to a man accused of driving a car without permission, reports said. Marquis Wilson, 24, of Bridgeview, was charged with criminal trespassing to a motor vehicle.

On May 18, a car was reported stolen from the 10200 block of 86th Terrace. The car was eventually located and returned to the owner. The vehicle was reported stolen a second time from the same address on June 3. The owners told officers that the car was apparently driven off with an emergency key stored in the center console, police said.

A Gatorade bottle was left in the car that did not belong to the owners. Fingerprints found on the bottle were traced back to Wilson, the report said. Wilson allegedly told police that a friend gave him the car to drive around.
