Prior to joining Palos 118, Dr. Dubec was superintendent of Benjamin School District 25 in DuPage County. He was attracted to Palos 118 because of the strong commitment that the community and professional staff had to children and education. He began his career as a middle school science teacher, then served as principal at the primary, intermediate, and middle school levels. Dr. Dubec also held the positions of director of special education and assistant superintendent. He received his doctorate from Loyola University in curriculum and instruction, and his law degree from John Marshall Law School. He earned both a master’s degree and educational specialist degree from Northern Illinois University in educational administration, and his undergraduate degree from Northeastern Illinois University. In addition, he was an adjunct professor at Governors State University and Aurora University.
“Dr. Dubec was a dedicated steward of children, staff, and the educational program of our district,” according to the statement. “Most important, he was proud of the students, and always appreciative of the hard work and dedication of the parent volunteers, teachers, administrators, and support staff in Palos 118.”
