Non-credit class provides overview of sports wagering, casinos, and video/slot machine businesses at Moraine Valley Community College.

PALOS HILLS, IL — Moraine Valley Community College is starting a new noncredit course aimed to help anyone interested in exploring gaming industry careers.
As the Illinois gaming industry continues to flourish, Moraine Valley can help people prepare for a career in sports wagering, casinos, and video and slot machine establishments. The new introductory course – Illinois Gaming Industry Careers – provides an overview of various gaming career fields and how to secure a job, including:
- History of Illinois gaming and how it evolved
- Professional growth potential
- Work eligibility and employment statistics
- Key skills for a successful career
- How to apply for an Illinois Gaming Board License
Many businesses are looking for positions in multiple fields, including gaming operations, customer service, maintenance, facilities, security, hospitality, culinary, accounting and more. This course will equip students with the fundamentals and knowledge needed to better understand the industry and associated career opportunities.
