Girl Tricked Into Giving Man $800 At Bank Drive Thru: Cops

The girl was in the drive-thru lane at Bank of America when a man asked her to help him with the ATM deposit button, reports said.

PALOS HILLS, IL — A man deceived a girl into giving him money, so he could cover a check he had just deposited at the drive-thru ATM, according to a Palos Hills police report.

Around 3 p.m. June 24, a girl was in the drive-thru at Bank of America, 10260 S. Roberts Road. She was approached by a man who asked for her help in cashing a check. Police said he asked the girl to see if the deposit button worked. The man placed a check in the slot. He then asked the girl if she could give him money from her account to cover the deposited check.

The girl gave the man $800. She and the man parted ways in opposite directions from the bank. A fraud complaint was made with the bank. Police are investigating.
