The Giving Tree at Green Hills Library
The Library is teaming up with BEDS Plus to collect donations for those experiencing homelessness.

The Green Hills Public Library District is once again partnering with BEDS Plus to hold an annual Giving Tree at the Library. The Library first partnered with BEDS Plus in 2019 and was able to collect hundreds of new items for individuals experiencing homelessness. The mission of BEDS Plus Care is to help vulnerable individuals stabilize their lives through housing and supportive services in an effort to reduce and end homelessness in Southwest Suburban Cook County.
Last year, more than 50 material items were donated, in addition to a total of $830 in low-denomination gift cards. The Library is looking forward to this campaign again, after much success last year. “Engaging in partnerships with local organizations to reach community members in meaningful ways is important to the Library. Last year was a perfect example of how impactful a partnership like this can be,” said Horn.
The Library’s Giving Tree will be open for donations from December 5, 2022 through January 2, 2023. This year, the requested donations include:

- Handwarmers
- Low denomination gift cards
Hats and handwarmers can be donated in the Lobby on the Ground Floor of the Library, located at 10331 S. Interlochen Drive in Palos Hills, IL. To donate gift cards, please make arrangements with Deputy Director Sara Horn at 708-598-8446 ext. 115 or shorn@greenhillslibrary.org.
