Green Hills Library Seeking Community Input for Strategic Plan

The Green Hills Public Library District is seeking feedback from community members through a survey to learn more about their experiences with Library services, programs, staff, and facilities. The community survey is part of the Library’s strategic planning process, with a new Strategic Plan set to begin in 2025. The Library is working with Fast Forward Libraries, a consulting group, to conduct the survey and analyze responses.

Library Director Jane Jenkins says that much has changed since the current Strategic Plan was made. “We developed our current Plan in the height of COVID when it was difficult to forecast the future. The Library has seen a lot of changes in the past few years, and getting community feedback is vital to our process of creating a new Strategic Plan. We’re excited to see how the community responds.”

Deputy Director Sara Horn is hoping that the survey garners interest from any community member, regardless of their usage of the Library. “We want to hear from our regulars, as well as those who don’t frequent the Library as much, even those who haven’t been here in years. Not only will this help us sustain and enhance well-used services, but it will also help us identify areas for improvement,” she says.

The Library will also be conducting surveys and meetings with staff and Board members in the coming months. Feedback from the community, staff, and Board of Trustees will help the Library achieve a comprehensive outlook for the future.

The online community survey is open from April 1-30. A Library card is not required to fill out the survey, and all responses are confidential. For those who do not want to participate online, paper copies will be available at all public services desks upon request.
