of Palos Heights, IL passed away on October 9, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn, who passed just three days before him. His father Frank V. Schoenecker, his mother Mary Schoenecker (Michaels), brothers Frank Schoenecker (the late Helen), Donald Schoenecker (Catherine), and Cyril Schoenecker (the late Karen), and sisters Katherine Flassig (the late Robert) and Dorothy Majerus (the late Donald) also predeceased him.
Hal was born on October 15, 1936 in Chicago, IL. He graduated from Blue Island Community High School in 1955, where he met Evelyn Valfre (Lynn). Hal and Lynn were married in 1956.
He began his career giving music lessons on piano, accordion and other instruments. Later, Hal trained in electronics, working for many years at Sears in Hickory Hills, IL.

Hal is survived by his sister, Donna Belsanti (the late Joseph), daughters, Karen Malec (James), Sandra Chaba (Sy) and Debra Dixon (Thom), grandchildren Skyler Khalachyan (Yenok), Matthew Dixon (Melina) and Mary Dixon, and many nieces and nephews.
His life will forever be cherished by his family and friends who are invited to gather and remember Hal and Lynn on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at the KERRY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CARE CENTER, 7020 W. 127th St., Palos Heights, IL 60463. Visitation 1:00 p.m. until time of service, 4:00 p.m.
