Homeowners Find Ruse Burglar In Hallway: Reports

A second man was also seen leaving a neighbor's house carrying a bag of items, Palos Hills police said.

PALOS HILLS, IL — Homeowners shooed a potential ruse burglar out of their hallway and chased a second one away as he left their neighbors’ house, reports said.

Around 3:30 pm. May 13, Palos Hills police went to a home in the 11100 block of Eastwood in response to a criminal trespass complaint. Officers said that a resident was startled to find a man in their hallway. Another household member told the man to leave and escorted him out of the house.

While escorting the man outside, the homeowner saw a second man leaving a neighbor’s house while carrying a small bag of items, reports said. When the homeowner confronted him, the man dropped the bag and took off running. Police said both men left the area.
