Honorary State Regent Visit to Swallow Cliff Chapter NSDAR
The 33rd anniversary of the chapter was the occasion of a visit by an Honorary State Regent and the induction of our newest member.

DAR Honorary State Regent Visit
Swallow Cliff Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution celebrated its 33rd anniversary on Saturday, October 18. The chapter was pleased to welcome as its speaker Mary Gustafson, Honorary State Regent and current State Parliamentarian, who presented her program, “The History of the Apron.” Following the completion of her term of office as State Regent from 1993-1995, Mrs. Gustafson has served nationally as Vice President General, Illinois District I Director, and on several state committees. To thank Mary for traveling from her home in Geneso, the chapter presented her with a patriotic and DAR-themed apron.
A special event during the meeting was the installation of its newest member, 87-year-old Helen Hermes, whose dream of joining DAR was made possible by her niece Lynn Gray and grandniece Audra Gray. They also presented her with the official DAR ribbon and pin.
