Hyundais, Kia Messed With In Palos Hills: Reports

Hyundais and a Kia were damaged and/or stolen from apartment complex community parking lots in Palos Hills.

PALOS HILLS, IL — Vehicles’ windows were shattered, steering columns stripped and or outright stolen in Palos Hills, according to police reports.

On April 14, a vehicle owner told police they parked and locked their Hyundai Elantra in the 10200 block of 84th Terrace. When they went to get the car the next day, the driver’s side window was partially opened. Officers said the steering wheel column had been stripped, and the plastic cover was found laying on the floor.

In the 8500 block of 102nd Terrace, the owners said they parked their 2021 Kia Forte in the community parking lot on April 15. They told police they locked the doors, but when they returned the next morning, their vehicle was gone.

The owners told officers that they parked and locked the doors to their Hyundai Sonata on April 15 in the community parking lot in the 8500 block of 101st Terrace. When they returned the next morning, the rear passenger’s side window was shattered. Nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle.
