Join the League of Women Voters for An Evening With Eleanor Roosevelt

Actress Leslie Goddard portrays Eleanor Roosevelt for a night of living history with the League of Women Voters of Palos-Orland.

Join the League of Women Voters of Palos-Orland on May 5 for dinner with Eleanor Roosevelt.

Award-winning actress and historian, Leslie Goddard will portray Eleanor Roosevelt for a walk down Memory Lane. At this dinner meeting, the spirit of Mrs. Roosevelt will live again as Goddard takes dinner guests on a journey through her personal joys and struggles during one of the most tumultuous periods in U.S. history.

The dinner will be held at the “Cottage” at Midlothian Country Club, 5000 West 147th Street in Midlothian, it starts at 6:30 PM and the cost is $40 per person. The event is open to anyone who is interested in spending an evening with the memory of one of our most admired and influential women in history.

In addition, the League of Women Voters of Palos-Orland is participating in the project to bring a woman to the face of American currency. Eleanor Roosevelt is one of the four finalists for this honor and the organization Women on 20s is taking the final vote on their website.

The League would like to spread the word on this important movement to put a woman on the face of our twenty dollar bills by the year 2020 which is the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment to the U.S. Constitution that guaranteed women in America the right to vote. “Dinner with Eleanor” should help us get to know her better.
