Kia Sorento Stolen From Community Parking Lot: Palos Hills Police
The vehicle was recovered unoccupied by Chicago police, reports said.

PALOS HILLS, IL — A resident reported that their 2015 Kia Sorrento had been stolen from their community parking lot, Palos Hills police said.
According to the resident, they parked their car Feb. 1 in the 9900 block of 84th Terrace. When they returned the next morning, the Kia was gone. The unoccupied vehicle was recovered by Chicago police.
Kia, along with Hyundai vehicles have soared to the top of “most stolen” lists due to social media videos showing how to break the vehicles’ steering column and start them with a USB device as a key. In 2022, over 7,000 Hyundais and Kias were stolen in Chicago alone. Some insurance companies have stopped insuring Hyundai and Kias.

Kia and Hyundai are distributing free anti-theft steering locks to police departments. Police have been distributing steering locks to Hyundai owners in Alsip, Palos Heights, Merrionette Park and Orland Park.
