Labor Day Crime Spree Targets Vehicles In Palos Hills Community Lots
Vehicles parked in community parking lots were stolen, ransacked or vandalized over Labor Day, Palos Hills police reports say.

PALOS HILLS, IL — Vehicles parked in community parking lots were stolen, ransacked or vandalized over Labor Day in Palos Hills. It is not known if the incidents are connected.
The owner of a 2020 Dodge Charger reported to police that someone smashed the sunroof and entered their vehicle. The car was parked in the community parking lot on the 8200 block of 111th Street.
Residents parked their 2012 Chrysler 300 in their assigned spot in the 11100 block of East Road on Aug. 31. When they looked out their window the next day, they noticed their car was missing.

Palos Hills police officers investigated a suspicious incident Sept. 1 in the community parking lot in the 9900 block of Hill Terrace. The resident told police someone entered their Hyundai Elantra and rummaged through their vehicle. Nothing was taken.
The most serious of the incidents occurred in the 10000 block of Hill Terrace. The resident said they parked their 2018 Kia Rio in the community parking lot. When they returned Sept. 1, the steering column was broken and a phone charger and air compressor were missing.
