NEW! The Village of Orland Park is looking for summer lifeguards to work at Centennial Park Aquatic Park. Enjoy the summer of 2018 working outdoors in a fun, team-oriented environment from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Lifeguards supervise the safety of patrons both in and out of the water. They also enforce rules, perform cleaning duties on and around the pool decks, provide first-aid to patrons, and engage in exceptional customer service to our members and daily guests. Applicants must be 16 years old on or before June 6, 2018. Candidates must also be able to swim 200 yards (freestyle, breaststroke or combination, without stopping), tread water for 2 minutes without use of hands, and remove a dive brick or training manikin from 12 feet of water. Lifeguards will be required to earn Starguard lifeguard certification/license and become CPR/AED/FA certified during the pre-season spring training. You will gain lifelong skills and make great friends throughout the summer season. All training and employee uniforms provided at no cost (must purchase training manual $35). NEW! The Village of Chicago Ridge is accepting applications for firefighter/paramedics. Applications are available at the village clerk’s office located at Chicago Ridge Village Hall, 10455 Ridgeland Ave. Completed applications must be completed and returned by 5 p.m. Feb. 8. NEW! Quaker Oats in Bridgeview is hiring full and part-time operations technicians. Part-time operators usually work 20-29 hours per week; full-time 40-50 hours per week. Hours may vary. The operations technicians will be responsible for one of the following areas:

Sanitation: maintain the cleanliness and orderliness in accordance with plant guidelines and specifications. Ensures compliance with local, state and federal sanitation regulations. Adheres to all plant GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices), established SOP’s (standard Operating Procedures) and all Food safety policies. Other duties as assigned.

Packaging: performs manual labor along a production line. Operates and troubleshoots production line machinery/equipment. Maintains operations at optimum quality and quantity levels which minimizes manufacturing expense and performs repairs as necessary. Other duties as assigned.

NEW! The Illinois High School Association is looking for men and women who want to give back to their school and sport by becoming licensed athletic officials. Candidates must be at least 17 years old, in good physical condition, and able to make decisions on their feet and stick to them. The IHSA currently licenses in 16 different sports. To become an IHSA official, you'll need to submit an online application and, after you've received a rule book from the IHSA, take an online, open-book rules examination and attend a clinic. NEW! The Chicago Zoological Society has an opening for a lead primate keeper at the Brookfield Zoo Center. Lead keepers must demonstrate an understanding of primate populations in their native ranges in managed programs, and participate in training plans and initiatives. Candidates will provide experienced care for animals and performance related work of maintaining buildings, grounds and interpretives in assigned areas. The position also performs departmental supervisory activities, such as supervising other keepers, support innovations in conservation leadership and animal welfare, hiring and scheduling, and engaging with the community. NEW! The Beverly Hills Tennis Club is hiring a new club manager for the 2018 tennis season. The club manager is responsible for:

  • Supervising the maintenance of eight clay tennis courts throughout the tennis season.
  • Facilitating basic repairs and maintenance of the clubhouse, courts, and deck.
  • Supervising and scheduling approximately three to four hourly staff.
  • Administering payroll
  • Maintaining a positive relationship with club membership and the BHTC board.

The Club Manager is expected to work approximately twenty hours per week during March, April, and May, approximately forty hours per week in June, July, August, and approximately twenty hours per week in September and October. RECENT! Amazon is looking for part-time seasonal sortation associates for its Chicago delivery station. The associate will manage the receiving of truck deliveries and packages, handle packages from small envelopes and boxes ranging up to 49 pounds; be willing and able to operate carts, dollies, hand trucks and other moving equipment to move large quantities of merchandise; use a smartphone, apps, handheld devices and scan barcodes. Hourly salary is $12.25. Ideal candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and be 18 or over. Learn more about the job and apply online.

RECENT! The Oak Lawn Police Department is accepting applications for part-time seasonal school crossing guards. This is a part-time (no benefits) position from mid-August to mid-June. Hours may vary. Starting pay is $9 per hour. School Crossing Guards are responsible for supervising the safe passage of children as they walk to and from school in all types of weather. Applicants must feel comfortable stopping cars to allow safe passage. Training will be provided. Applicants must be 18, have a clean driving record and have no significant criminal background.
