Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd Hosts Gigantic Rummage Sale

Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd is hosting a huge rummage sale May 4 and May 5, with thousands of gently-used items for sale.

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL – Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd is hosting the mother of all rummage sales with thousands of gently used items for sale. The rummage sale takes place this weekend from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, May 4, and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 5, at 7800 W. McCarthy Road, Palos Heights. All items will be half-price on Saturday.

Proceeds from the sale will support the high school students who will attend the ELCA Youth Gathering in Houston this summer. This year’s sale features an entire room of material perfect for any floral designer, including floral picks and stems, garland, wreaths and accents. Dozens of plastic outdoor Christmas figurines and other holiday décor also will be sold.

The well-organized sale also features kitchenware, dishes, tools, purses, pet supplies (including a rabbit hutch and multiple dog crates), toys, sporting goods, clothing, linens, books, lamps, pillows, furniture, artwork, clothing and gardening supplies. Antiques and collectibles, such as model railroad train cars and track, are gathered in a special area.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of American Youth gathering occurs every three years. This year, ELCA Lutheran youth and adults from all over the country will meet in Houston to celebrate their faith, listen to speakers, work in the community, hear Christian musicians and worship together. More than 30,000 people are expected to attend this year’s gathering. For more information, call the church office at (708) 448-4170.
