Man Accused Of Kicking Police And Threatening Their Families

Palos Hills police were escorting a man outside while responding to a domestic disturbance call, reports said.

PALOS HILLS, IL — A Palos Hills man kicked police officers and threatened their families while being escorted out of his home during a domestic disturbance, reports said. Daniel Rangel, 42, was charged with reckless conduct, criminal damage to property, and three counts each of battery, resisting and aggravated assault.

Around 2 a.m. July 10, Palos Hills police were called to the 9900 block of 82nd Court for a domestic disturbance. Police said a man, later identified as Rangel, had been arguing with his girlfriend and throwing stuff around the house.

When officers arrived, they said Rangel was argumentative and refused to leave the residence. As Rangel was being escorted outside, he tried tripped the officers by kicking their legs, reports said.

Police allege that Rangel began pulling away from the officers and kicking their bodies. When Rangel was being driven to the station, police said he threatened the officers and their families. Rangel appeared later that day for a bail hearing at the Bridgeview Courthouse.
