Des Plaines Man Died Of Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound In Preserve: ME

Cook County Medical Examiner said a 34-year-old Des Plaines found in a car at Tampier Lake woods died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

PALOS TOWNSHIP, IL — The body of a man was found in his car in an unincorporated Palos forest preserve has been identified as a 34-year-old Des Plaines man. The Cook County Medical Examiner said Friday the man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

At 5:10 p.m. Thursday, Forest Preserves of Cook County police found the body of a 34-year-old man in his car in the west parking lot of the Tampier Lake forest preserve near Orland Park. Officers said that evidence at the scene indicated that the gunshot wound was possibly self-inflicted.

The body was taken to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office where it will be autopsied. The forest preserve police are leading the ongoing investigation.
