Man Shot To Death In Palos Heights 'Not Random Incident': COPS
Man shot to death multiple times in residential neighborhood in Palos Heights. Cops say there is no safety threat to the community.
PALOS HEIGHTS, IL -- Crime scene tape roped off a house in a quiet Palos Heights subdivision after a man was shot to death late Monday afternoon. Two evidence placards could be seen in the open garage and one on the driveway. The shooting is being investigated by Palos Heights police and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force. Police do not believe the shooting to be a random incident and say there is no threat to community safety. Both men are said to have known each other.
Around 5 p.m. police responded to a report of a shooting in the 7300 block of West Ishnala Drive in Palos Heights. A male was found wounded at the scene. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he later died of his injuries. A woman called 911, who was described as being “hysterical.” The shooter is believed to have fled in a vehicle and no longer is in the Palos area, police said.
A neighbor, who didn’t want to give his name, told Patch that he heard three shots ring out. According to the neighbor, a couple who appeared in their thirties lived in the house with three children. After the neighbor heard the shots, he saw another man crouched in the driveway. Police took the man and put him in the back of a squad car. The man is believed to have been doing work in the house.

“This is such a quiet a neighborhood,” the neighbor said.
A police source said the shooter may have been laying in wait for the deceased man. Police are not releasing the man’s name pending notification of his family members.
