Mildred 'Millie' Hosty, 95, Beloved Mother, Grandma and Great-Grandma

Mildred Hosty (nee Puscizna), 95, longtime resident of Palos Heights, was reunited with her beloved Ed (“Bud”) on Oct. 17, 2022. “Millie” was a proud and devoted mother of five: Deirdre (Ed), the late Edward (Erin), Patricia (James), Kevin (Mary), and James (Margaret). Millie’s three siblings preceded her in death.

In their 60 years of marriage, Millie and “Bud” built a family tree that grew to 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was adored by her grandchildren James (Andrea), Lauren, Jim (Sandra), Meghan, Eric (Melanie), Jenny (Nick), Tommy, Hannah, Bridget (Bobby), Brian (Colleen), Gretchen (Steve), Eddie, Paula, Colleen, Kathleen, Ray, Shannon, and Patti. Treasured great-granny to Madelyn, Bobby, Brayden, Logan, Isabella, Kyle, Cecilia, Hunter, Lucas, Jackson, Callen, Sawyer, Elliot, Miles, Quinn, Johanna, Matthew, Mary, Brendan and Jack.

Millie was an avid golfer and Las Vegas enthusiast. She was quick to talk you into a game of dice or cards, and sly enough to convince you she hadn’t cheated, you just didn’t know the rules. She had a sharp sense of personal style and a flair for home decorating. She loved a good road trip, and most animals, especially horses, dogs, and chickens. Stubborn and feisty, she did things her way until the very end.

Millie’s family would like to thank her adored caregivers Karen, Anne, Vida and Virginia, who are part of the family now.

Visitation Friday Oct. 21, 9 a.m. until time of prayers at 10:45 a.m. at the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home, 9000 W. 151st St., Orland Park to Our Lady of the Woods Church, 10731 W 131st St, Orland Park., for Mass of the Resurrection at 11:30 a.m.

Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery where Millie will be laid to rest next to her beloved Ed. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association are encouraged.
