Moraine Valley Earth Day: E-Waste, Document Shredding, Drug Take Back
Shred your documents, turn in unused meds and recycle e-waste at Moraine Valley Community College's Earth Day celebration Friday, April 22.
PALOS HILLS, IL — Moraine Valley Community College will host an Earth Day Recycling Event on Friday, April 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., on its main campus, 9000 W. College Parkway, Palos Hills. Community members can bring prescription drugs, unwanted paper, electronics and lighting to Building D to be recycled for free.
At the Prescription Drug Takeback Day, in partnership with the Cook County Sheriff’s Department, Cook County residents can bring unused and expired prescription drugs to be safely disposed of to the drop-off in the lobby of Building D. Liquid medication and sharps (e.g., surgical tools, needles, hypodermics) will not be accepted.
The Earth Day event will also feature a recycling drive and document shred-a-thon. Shark Shredding will have a shredding truck on site. There is a two-box maximum per vehicle allowed for shredding. In addition, EverLights Inc., a prominent Chicago recycler, will be on hand. People can bring electronics they no longer want along with batteries, lamps, ballasts and intact mercury devices to be properly recycled. Accepted items include:
