Moraine Valley Hosts COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic, Reopens Test Sites

Moraine Valley Community College will host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic May 16, and is reopening test sites in Palos Hills and extensions.

PALOS HILLS, IL — With suburban Cook County moving from low to medium risk for coronavirus transmission, Moraine Valley Community College is partnering with the Cook County Department of Public Health to offer a vaccine clinic from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 16, in Moraine Room 3,inside Building M at the main campus, 9000 W. College Parkway, in Palos Hills. The first 30 people to be vaccinated will receive a $100 Visa gift card.

All the first and second doses will be administered, as will first boosters (12+ years), second boosters (50+ years or severe immunocompromised only) and pediatric doses. The Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccines will be available.

Moraine Valley is also reopening its COVID-19 testing sites using the SHIELD saliva test developed by the University of Illinois. The site is open to the public. To receive results, testers must create a SHIELD account. Results are posted 24 to 48 hours after testing. Visit the SHIELD Illinois portal to create an account. When registering, use the agency code df5brbrj.

Testing is being offered at the college’s main campus and extension sites. Hours are as follows:

Palos Hills campus – Building T, Fogelson Theater lobby
Monday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Tuesday: 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Tuesday: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Wednesday: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
