Moraine Valley Hosts Voter Registration Drive
Moraine Valley Community College hold a voter registration drive Jan. 28 and Jan. 29 on the Palos Hills campus before the Illinois primary.
PALOS HILLS, IL — Moraine Valley Community College will be conducting a voter registration drive from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, and Wednesday, Jan. 29. If you’re not registered to vote or need to update your registration before the Illinois primary, stop by Room U111 in Building U on the main campus at 9000 W. College Parkway, Palos Hills.
To vote in Illinois, residents must:
- Be a United States citizen
- Be 17 years or older on or before the date of the primary election and turn 18 on or before the date of the general or consolidated election
- Live in their election precinct at least 30 days prior to election day
- No be serving a sentence of confinement in any penal institution
- Not claim the right to vote anywhere else.
Moraine Valley’s voter registration drive is open to anyone who meets the eligibility
Requirements, and is sponsored by the college’s Democracy Commitment Committee and Student Life Office. The Illinois primary is March 17.
