Moraine Valley Offers Free Sign Language Classes For Families
Moraine Valley is offering free sign language classes for families with deaf or hard -or-hearing children, starting Feb. 7.
PALOS, IL — Moraine Valley Community College is offering free family sign language classes for families who have Deaf or hard-of-hearing children ages birth through high school. The classes are taught by deaf instructors in sign language and written English.
The Level 1 class will be for beginners. Sessions will run virtually via Zoom on Tuesdays from Feb. 7 through March 7, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. An in-person session for beginners will run on Wednesdays from Feb. 8 through March 8, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
People with some sign skills can attend one of the Level 2 classes that begin in March. The Tuesday class will run from March 21 through April 25, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. via Zoom. An in-person session will run on Wednesdays from March 22 through April 26, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Immediate and extended family members are welcome to take the classes. Space is limited so find out today.
