Moraine Valley Offers Summer Concerts In July
Moraine Valley Community College summer concerts showcase jazz, classical and patriotic favorites in July.

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL -- The sounds of summer will include plenty of music at Moraine Valley Community College. Summer concerts will showcase jazz, classical and patriotic favorites throughout the month of July. All concerts will take place at the Dorothy Menker Theater inside the college’s Fine and Performing Arts Center.
The Choral and Chamber Singers will take the red, white and blue to a new level with this year’s patriotic concert, Saturday, July 28, at 7:30 p.m. Led by Nick Thomas, the Chorale is comprised of more than 75 community members and the Chamber Singers features Moraine Valley students. Tickets are $15; $12 for seniors and students.
The Jazz Ensemble presents its Swingin’ Summer Jazz Concert Friday, July 27, at 7:30 p.m. The concert is free and under the direction of Douglass Bratt, features the 18-member jazz big band comprised of adult community members, college students and advanced high school students.

Celebrating with its cummer concert, the Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Bratt, performs Tuesday, July 31, at 7:30 p.m.. The ensemble features adult community members, college students and advanced high school students who explore music genres that range from rag time, popular and classical to Caribbean, Latin and jazz. The concert is free.
