Moraine Valley Plans Events Celebrating New President's Investiture
Residents are invited to a meet-and-greet with Dr. Pamela Haney Oct. 24 and her invesiture ceremony Oct. 25 at the Palos Hills campus.

CHICAGO — Moraine Valley Community College will host three community events this week celebrating Dr. Pamela J, Haney’s investiture of the college’s sixth president. All events are free and open to the public.
Haney, previously vice-president of academic affairs at MVCC, was selected from three finalists in May after an impressive show of support from the college community. She assumed her new role as president July 1 effective through June 30, 2026.
Community members are encouraged to attend a presidential meet-and -greet that will take place from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 24. Guests can socialize with the president and one another in Building M on the main campus, 9000 W. College Parkway, Palos Hills. Appetizers will be served.

Haney will formally be inducted as president during the investiture ceremony in the Building G gymnasium at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25. in Building G. This academic ceremony will feature a procession of Moraine Valley faculty and staff, delegates from other Illinois colleges and universities, speakers, music, a poetry reading and a presentation of the presidential medallion. A reception immediately will follow the ceremony.
Current Moraine Valley students also can engage with Haney during the ‘Service and a Slice’ event on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Building U, Room U111. Students will make cards for people battling cancer through the American Cancer Society’s Love Notes Project and enjoy pizza and conversation with the president.
