Moraine Valley Presents Car Show And Automotive Dept. Open House

Peruse classic cars from all eras and tour the automotive technology department on SATURDAY, Sept. 8. Enter your stock or modified car.

PALOS HILLS, IL -- Stock and modified cars from all decades will be on display at Moraine Valley Community College’s second annual car show on Saturday, Sept. 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The college’s Automotive Technology department will also be holding an open hours during the show. The car show is FREE to spectators.

Spectators can peruse the cars and enjoy live music by Analog Chain, split-the-pot and drawings for prizes and food trucks. The cars will be parked in the lot next to Building T, which is just east of the 111th Street entrance of the main campus, 9000 W. College Parkway, Palos Hills.

Anyone interested in learning more about Moraine Valley’s automotive technology program can attend an open hours in Building T, Room T600 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Guests can tour the auto lab and classrooms, and talk to faculty and current students.

Car enthusiasts who have any make or model car to display are invited to enter the show to win one of 36 trophies. First-place and runner-up trophies will be presented for stock and modified cars in each decade beginning with 1940. All cars made prior to 1940 will be judged as one category. Trophies will be awarded for Best in Show, People’s Choice, Veteran Owned, and Best Interior, Exterior, Engine, Car, Truck, Antique, and Classic Car. Registration is $15 before Sept. 1 and $20 the day of the show.
