Movies In The Moonlight Features Newer Family Flicks At Moraine Valley

Moraine Valley Community College's outdoor movie series features 'Puss n' Boots,' 'Super Mario Bros.' and the live action 'Little Mermaid.'

PALOS HILLS, IL — The popular Movie in the Moonlight outdoor movie series returns to Moraine Valley Community College this summer. The college will show three movies on a 16-foot inflatable screen at the Gateway, between Buildings F and M, on campus, 9000 W. College Parkway, Palos Hills. Admission is free.

The series features newer, family-friendly films. A state-of-the-art sound system ensures everyone can easily hear the movie regardless of where they are sitting on the spacious lawn.

The first movie is the Academy Award-nominated “Puss in Boots” on Saturday, June 24, at 8:30 p.m.

“The Super Mario Bros. Movie” will be shown on Saturday, July 8, at 8:15 p.m., and “The Little Mermaid” (new, live-action version) will play on Saturday, Aug. 12, at 7:30 p.m.

Families must bring their own blankets or chairs to sit on. Outside food is welcome. Alcohol and smoking are not allowed on Moraine Valley’s campus. People who need to smoke must do so in their vehicles.

In the event of inclement weather, the movie will be shown inside Building M. Patrons should still bring their own chairs and blankets inside. A limited number of chairs may be available. If the movie will be moved inside, a notice will be posted on Movies in the Moonlight by 5 p.m. the day of the event.
