MVCC Board Chair Will Match Donations for Fine and Performing Arts Center Capital Campaign
John and Pat Coleman will match donations for technology upgrades up to $25,000 for Moraine Valley's performing arts center.

PALOS HILLS, IL -- The Fine and Performing Arts Center at Moraine Valley Community College is getting a boost to its 2019 capital campaign thanks to a generous challenge donation by John Coleman, chair of the college’s board of trustees and a member of the Moraine Valley Foundation board.
Coleman and his wife, Pat, both longtime supporters of the fine and performing arts at Moraine Valley, will match every dollar given to the FPAC 2019 campaign over the next five years up to $25,000.
“We are honored to support the Fine and Performing Arts Center with this matching gift,” Coleman said. “We hope our gift will encourage others to give to such a worthwhile cause.”

Critical technology upgrades are needed at the center to continue to provide professional level experience and training for students, and to continue to attract high quality entertainment, said Tommy Hensel, managing director of Moraine Valley’s Fine and Performing Arts Center. The technology needs include energy efficient lighting, new moving spotlights, lighting control boards, digital wireless microphones, and a digital sound system.
“The Coleman’s generosity presents the Foundation with an amazing opportunity,” said Kristy McGreal, executive director of the Moraine Valley Foundation. “It’s not every day people agree to support the Fine and Performing Arts Center with a $25,000 matching gift. Now every donor who supports the FPAC 2019 campaign will know that their donation is making double the impact through this matching gift.”

The Fine and Performing Arts Center currently has a “Buy A Seat” Campaign as part of FPAC 2019. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to celebrate family, friends, business, or the memory of a loved one by naming a seat in the Dorothy Menker Theater for the Performing Arts for a gift of $500, or by naming an entire row. Each named seat will have 3-inch by 1-inch, air brushed plaque. Donations are 100 percent tax deductible and can be spread out over time.
