Mysterious Man Donates $25K At Special Olympics 'Cop On Rooftop'
Who was that mysterious man in a Rolls Royce? Anonymous donor writes $25K check for Special Olympics at Palos Park's Cop On Rooftop event.

PALOS PARK, IL -- Sometimes it pays to sit on top of a doughnut shop. The Palos Park Police Department’s Cop On A Rooftop event was one for the record books. Staking out two local Dunkin Donuts Friday morning to raise money for Special Olympics Illinois, a mysterious donor driving a Rolls Royce made cops’ day.
Sitting on the roof of Dunkin Donuts at 130th Street and LaGrange Road, Palos Park Police Chief Joe Miller watched a man driving a Rolls Royce into the parking lot.
“He peeled off eight one-hundred dollar (bills) and put them into the jar for Special Olympics,” Miller said. “He went in and got his coffee. He was standing outside talking to officers and volunteers about Special Olympics.”

“John climbed up on the roof to show us the check,” Miller said.
