Nancy Helen Robinette Recalled By Children As Devoted Single Mom and Grandmother

Nancy Helen Robinette, of Palos Heights, passed away at age 76. A memorial is being planned for next summer in New Jersey.

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL -- Nancy Helen Robinette, of Palos Heights, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Oct 21 at Palos Health, She was 76.

Nancy was born in Camden, NJ, to Edward and Doris (Wilke) Norris. An only child she grew up in Wildwood Crest, N.J. where she raised her three children, Frank, Jodi and James. She was a single mom who worked very hard for her family. She lived in Wildwood Crest most of her life until she moved to Florida for a short time. She eventually retired in Illinois where she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren whenever possible. She was formerly a resident of Victory Center in Melrose Park and Manor Care in Palos Heights. She loved to read, do crosswords puzzles, play cards and do crafts.

Nancy is survived by her son, Frank Robinette, daughter Jodi (Larry) Donahue, and son James (Lianne) Robinette. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Larry and Jenna Donahue and Ava, Andrew, Danielle, and Patrick Robinette.

“We would like to thank the staff at Palos Health for assisting in keeping our mom as comfortable as possible in her last days, especially the nurses and staff in the Comfort Care and Hospice,” her children said in a written statement.

Nancy’s children are planning a memorial in New Jersey sometime next summer.
