Mrs. Profita excited for new challenge.

Natalie Profita’s career in North Palos District 117 has taken her to all five of the schools and now she is headed to the district office. She was recently named the district’s Director of Curriculum. She will begin her new position on July 1.
Mrs. Profita has been the principal of Sorrick School for the last six years. However, she began her career in the district in 2009 as a third-grade teacher at Oak Ridge School.
She then served as a district-wide technology instruction coordinator where she supported teachers in the implementation of technology in instruction and assessment.

“I’m really excited about this opportunity,” she said. “I have a lot of experience working with teams and helping lead them through change. I think that will assist me a lot in this new position.”
An avid reader, Mrs. Profita said she is constantly learning and is passionate about literacy. “Our committees have been doing exceptional work as they have been revising units and engaging in professional development. I look forward to being a part of this process in this new role.”
She said she is “excited to have this opportunity” and is proud to be part of a team that “works hard each and every day and is so dedicated to its students and staff.”
Mrs. Profita was quick to praise the woman who is taking over as Sorrick principal on July 1: Stephanie Johnson.
Mrs. Johnson is the current principal at Oak Ridge School. She is the former team leader at Sorrick School when Mrs. Profita started there as principal.
“Stephanie has built many great relationships here at Sorrick and there is no better person to take over as principal,” she said.
Mrs. Profita and her husband, Robert, have two children: Liliana, 5, and Leo, 8 months. The couple reside in Naperville.
