National Night Out Celebrated in Palos HILLS, Aug. 1

Leave the porch light on and join your neighbors at Town Square Park in Palos Hills for National Night Out, Tuesday, Aug. 1.

PALOS HILLS, IL -- Palos Hills has a full slate of activities planned for National Night Out this Tuesday, Aug. 1. The police-community bonding event kicks off a 6 p.m. with a parade, followed by activities from 7 to 9 p.m. in Town Square Park, 8455 W. 103rd St., Palos Hills.

National Night Out was introduced in 1984 as police and community building event focusing on public safety. It is traditionally held on the first Tuesday night in August. This year, National Night Out falls on Aug. 1.

The Palos Hills Police Department is planning a parade that steps off at 6 p.m. from Roberts Road and 106th Street, ending in the town square. Got a car seat? Make sure it’s installed right by letting the police check it out. Other activities feature K9 demonstrations, face painting, children’s entertainment and bingo. You can also pick up a “We Support Our Police” yard sign while supplies last. The first 250 kids will receive a free gift.
