PALOS HILLS, IL — The Moraine Valley Community College Board of Trustee will hold a special meeting Wednesday, May 31, where trustees are expected to announce the new college president. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. in Room D219 in Building D, 9000 W. College Parkway, Palos Hills.

The national search for the college’s sixth president began in February after current president Dr. Sylvia Jenkins announced her retirement, effective June 30 after serving 11 years in the role. The presidential search is conducted at the direction of the board of trustees with the support of the Pauly Group — an academic search consulting firm.

The presidential search committee has narrowed the list down to three finalists, including Dr. Pamela Haney, currently the vice president of academic affairs for Moraine Valley; Dr. Michelé Smith, vice president of Workforce Solutions at Harper College; and Dr. Evon Walters, president of Northwest Region for Community College of Allegheny County. All three candidates participated in open forums earlier this month for students, staff and community members.
