North Palos District 117 - School Board Elections

Learn more about our proven property tax relief plan

We respect and appreciate the tax dollars that our community entrusts us with to educate our students. We have a proven plan to reduce our dependency on local property taxes to fund our North Palos Schools, while still providing a best-in-state education for our students.

Proven Property Tax Relief Plan

I was involved in helping rewrite the State education funding formula to provide additional funding for academic intervention programs and English Language Learner programs. It has resulted in an increase in state education funding of $10 million dollars a year for North Palos. The additional State funding has allowed us to provide meaningful property tax relief.

  • Provided $3.5 million dollars in property tax relief (approximately $700 per household)
  • Limited property tax increases to less than half the average Cook County school property tax increase during a period of record high inflation

What’s Next for Additional Property Tax Relief

We will work diligently to receive the Illinois Property Tax Relief Grant that would LOWER your North Palos property taxes by 8%. The Property Tax Relief Grant was part of the new state education funding formula that I worked on.
