NPD117 Staff Among Winners of ISBE Awards
Nine Staff Win 2024 Those Who Excel and Teacher of the Year Contest
Nine educators and support staff from North Palos School District 117 were among the more than 500 from Illinois recognized for their extraordinary contributions to education through the annual Those Who Excel & Teacher of the Year Awards.
The 2024 Those Who Excel & Teacher of the Year Award program celebrates incredible administrators, classroom teachers, school support personnel and volunteers who have made lasting impacts on students, families and fellow educators.
Awards are presented in seven categories that include: classroom teachers; early career educators (teachers in the first four years of their careers); school administrators; student support personnel; educational service personnel; community volunteers and teams.

NPD117 recipients include: Conrady Assistant Principal Dorita McCabe, Award of Meritorious Service in the category of Administrator; Lauren Potokar, Award of Special Recognition in the category of Community Volunteer; Karolina Budz, Award of Meritorious Service in the category of Early Career Educator; Jolanta Luberda, Award of Meritorious Service in the category of Educational Service Personnel; Stefanie Bell, Award of Special Recognition in the category of Student Support Personnel; Gloria Crawley-Scislowicz, Awards of Special Recognition in the category of Teacher and Julie McElligott, Kim Sievers and Lauren Wuchter, Awards of Meritorious Service in the category of Team.
NPD117 is extremely proud of all of our staff members who were selected for the Those Who Excel Awards. A banquet will be held for all the recipients on May 18.
