Nude Photos Of Teen Found On Worth Man's Phone: Prosecutor

Worth man is currently facing charges for traveling to meet a minor in Evergreen Park, prosecutor said.

WORTH, IL -- A Worth man currently accused of traveling to meet a minor is facing new charges of child pornography and solicitation of a child, after nude photos or an underage girl were found on his cell phone, prosecutors said. Laith Alnaimat, 27, appeared before Cook County Judge Michael Kane after Worth police found the alleged nude photos while executing a search warrant. Alnaimat is currently on electronic monitoring through the Cook County Sheriff’s Office and is not allowed to leave his home.

The prosecutor said Alnaimat started communicating with an underage teen between March 11 and March 16, who he met using the Whisper app. Worth police executed a search warrant March 20 for Alnaimat’s cell phone. On March 29 the data extraction was completed, allegedly showing Alnaimat’s conversations with the teen and nude photos he coaxed the 17-year-old into sending him.

Laith communicated with the teen on Whisper, where she disclosed that she was 17, the prosecutor said. The 27-year-old Worth man allegedly asked the teen to send him nude photos of herself. The prosecutor said that the teen complied with his request, and the two continued to engage in conversation until March 16. Alnaimat allegedly used the pseudonym “Leo” on the Whisper app. He was arrested April 13 by Worth police, the prosecutor said.

The teen was interviewed by children’s justice but had deleted the Whisper app. She admitted to sending nude photos to Alnaimat, the prosecutor said.

Alnaimat has a pending case out of Evergreen Park where he is facing charges of child solicitation, traveling to meet a minor and grooming. According to court records, Alnaimat was in an investigation where an Evergreen Park police officer posed as a female minor on Whisper. The prosecutor did not have information whether the Evergreen Park case was related to the new charges. Bail was set at $10,000. Alnaimat has been placed on electronic monitoring through the Cook County Sheriff’s Office. He is only allowed movement to attend court, records said.

The prosecutor asked for special conditions of bond, including not having a phone with access to the Internet, and no contact with the teen or children under age 18. He’s also banned from Internet use.

Alnaimat resides on the 10700 block of South Harlem Avenue in Worth. Bail was set at $35,000 on the new charges. Alnaimat’s next court date is May 10 in Bridgeview.
